My own childhood was greatly influenced by dance and I hope to build a community as nurturing and loving as the one I was so lucky to be a part of.

Bachelor of Dance

Once a little dancer myself, I began taking ballet lessons at age 3 in Hamilton, New Zealand. I loved those classes and have fond memories of these early dancing days; arriving at the studio each week, choosing a ballet skirt from the box… I adored the skirt with the blue spots!

I went on to train in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Irish dance and completed a Bachelor of Dance at AUT University, Auckland and Royal Academy of Dance Teacher Training graduating as an RAD Registered Teacher.

I moved to the UK in 2015 and never imagined I would wind up starting a business so far from home. But now, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else! I am also incredibly lucky that I am not alone when it comes to running The Little Dance Academy. I have been joined by my best friend, Laura, who now also runs her own Little Dance Academy in Queens Park!

We first met while dancing in the musical Chicago in 2013 in New Zealand. Laura was living there for 2 years, we became carpool buddies, and have been best friends ever since. I called in a favour in 2016 after a teacher had to leave unexpectedly, and Laura agreed to cover the classes for a few weeks to give me a chance to find a new teacher and she never left!

Fast forward a few years and The Little Dance Academy now operates in Fulham, Hammersmith, Chiswick, Kensington, Queens Park & West Hampstead. We teach hundreds of little dancers every week, and myself and our wonderful team of teachers feel so incredibly lucky to be sharing our love and passion for dance everyday with so many little superstars.
